The purpose of SBC is to generate referrals for other member businesses. 

The members of the club are expected to act professionally, honestly, and to follow up on all referrals made to them from other members. 

Members meet formally, once a fortnight and informally in the between weeks at Harpers Steakhouse at Swanwick Marina. 

The application fee is £30 and a monthly fee of around £30 (depending on your choice of breakfast) payable on the 1st of every month. There is no minimum term and membership can be cancelled at any time without penalty. No refund will be given for leavers part-way through the month. 

Late payment beyond 28 days will result in membership being suspended. 

If an individual leaves with the intention of returning within 2 months, their position can be held open for a fee of £30. Should they return to the club, this will be deducted from their monthly membership. 

Fees and membership are non-transferable. Should a member wish to leave and replace with another member of staff, they will be required to apply as if a new member. 

Members will represent their business and only one person per category can join. 

Members are expected to attend each formal meeting, but they are not expected to source an alternative if they cannot attend. Regular non-attendance though will result in a review of the membership. 

The Membership Team will meet every 6 months to assess the performance of individuals based on the criteria of attendance, referrals given, business generated, visitors invited, and 1:1s. 

Membership can be reviewed at any time if the member is considered to have acted unprofessionally. 

Visitors can attend a maximum of 4 meetings before joining unless dispensation is granted. Visitor fees are breakfast and drinks costs only. 

If a visitor’s business category directly clashes with another member’s category, the member will be advised and given the decision of whether they are permitted to attend.

Prior to application approval, visitors will be provided with the constitution of the club. 

Members will only use other member data with their consent. 

Your company and contact details will be published on the website, with your prior approval. 

A copy of our Privacy Policy can be found on the website. 

We welcome applications from any reputable business owners or their managers/senior staff. However, you will be asked for 2 references from current/recent clients to assess the suitability of you and your business as a member of the club. This is requested to ensure that you meet the standards of membership.
